April News: The Veil of the Unknown

“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”— Leonard Cohen

Hello! You’ll forgive us if we send this month’s newsletter in two parts- simply because we really want to take the time to share the art we’ll be presenting at the San Francisco Art Fair.

If you’re in town, we’d love to welcome you,

San Francisco Art Fair | Fort Mason | April 17-20 | Booth B09

For a ticket, click to download your pass. It will take you to our catalogue and the link to download your tickets is at the end.

We’re honoured to present works that navigate the liminal space between perception and reality. Each piece invites a closer look—where concealment and revelation meet, sparking curiosity and joy beyond the visible. Please read on as we share three works.

LUPA | U.S. Debut - For the first time in the U.S., a collection of works by LUPA will be on view—including Heart Locket, a luminous portrait shaped by soft radiance and layered intimacy. Inspired by a childhood gift, the painting dissolves the boundaries between mother and child, past and present. What is absent becomes tenderly visible—an evocation of love, loss, and the quiet persistence of memory

JULIA WHEATLEY | IT ALL TASTES SAME UNDERWATER - Julia’s painting explores society’s obsession with private lives, revealing the tension between visibility and self-preservation. Blurring the line between perception and truth, it invites viewers to peer through layered realities. Identity is both revealed and obscured, as the composition mirrors the act of self-curation—offering glimpses while withholding the whole

COLIN ROBERTS | HOLOGRAPH PILLOW - Colin transforms everyday objects into uncanny, often anthropomorphic forms—most notably his Acrylic Pillows. Meticulously constructed from hundreds of hand-cut acrylic pieces, each sculpture becomes a three-dimensional puzzle of light. Though made from rigid material, their precise craftsmanship gives the illusion of softness, blurring the line between the synthetic and the tactile.
