May News|From China to USA: San Francisco

Hello from China!

As I write this, I’m on a high-speed train en route to Jingdezhen—internationally recognized as China’s "Porcelain Capital." For over a thousand years, this historic city has been a major centre for porcelain production, flourishing through the Song (960–1279), Yuan (1271–1368), Ming (1368–1644), and Qing (1644–1912) dynasties. Renowned for its craftsmanship, Jingdezhen supplied the Imperial courts with some of the finest porcelain in Chinese history.

This trip across four locations in China has been driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of the global art ecosystem—specifically how different cultures support artists, foster creativity, and build connections with collectors. In just six full days, we visited four artist residencies, six galleries, one museum, one art foundation, and one design/factory space. It’s been an eye-opening experience, and I look forward to sharing more reflections soon.

But first, not long ago in April, we had the pleasure of presenting our artists at the San Francisco Art Fair. As our first time participating, we had no benchmark to compare it to—but the sense of community, strong programming, and presence of the city’s most respected galleries made it a truly rewarding experience. A heartfelt thank you to our artists, clients, and patrons for their unwavering support. We’d be delighted to share our booth if you would like to learn more, let us know.

In case you missed it, Artsy has released its annual Art Market Trends report. If you’d like the highlights, message us for our summary which is essential reading for artists, galleries, and collectors looking to get a pulse on the current market mood.
